Craftinsure Insure National Circuit Event at Whitstable

A Message to Wayfarer Class Association (UK) members from the organiser of the shared Wayfarer & Wanderer event at Whitstable Yacht Club, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June.
In just a few weeks the Wanderers of Whitstable look forward to welcoming our visitor Wayfarer cousins to the Wayfarer Open at Whitstable (shared with Wanderers).
We have now reached the time for finalising the preparations for the event; to do this please use the link below to the club website. Although entries may come as late as the morning of the event - and would always be welcome - it is incredibly helpful to know 4 weeks in advance as to the likely turnout. For example, to order the requisite number of engraved prizes in accordance with the size of the fleet.

The club can offer more than before for our visitors: up to ten campervan parking places close to the club can be booked; you can arrive on the Friday before and stay until the Monday after the weekend with use of club facilities; the Saturday evening meal on the club veranda is not to be missed; after the meal we will have an array of Whitstable style awards for all to take a momento home; all are welcome to stay on after the meal for acoustic music led by a superb shantyman guitarist; a wonderful sunset across the Swale is also on order.
Please book your Saturday evening meal(s) for crew, family and friends, whether or not sailing. Meal orders must be in advance. All the choices can be viewed at the website link; you will see an amazing Fish and Chip restaurant smorgasbord of choice, including vegetarian. Payment should be made directly to the supplier and choices emailed to me; the caterer will match meals on the day to the received payments; the food will be delivered directly to the club. As for the racing, this will be the third of three shared events that the Wayfarers are sharing with the Wanderers this season. I am so pleased that Wayfarers and Wanderers have chosen Whitstable for the coastal sailing venue. It was great to meet some of you at Datchet. Can we make Whitstable an even greater success? We will have the benefit of two highly experienced club race officers and also an excellent safety boat team. Starting off the committee boat out in the bay affords no lack of water for the courses. The website link will also take you to the NOR and club SIs. In almost any weather conditions Wayfarers will love it. Prize giving will be after the final race.
