Adventure Sailing & Cruising Conference
The 2026 Adventure & Cruising Conference will take place on 27-29 March 2026 at Rutland Sailing Club. This is a weekend of land-based training and information-sharing activities. Get the chance to meet around 50 other Wayfarer cruisers. Hear about their adventures, learn hands-on from the experts, and see some well set-up boats.
This year's conference will include topics such as:
- Getting your children into sailing
- Sail handling
- Risk assessment and safety
- Minor repairs for GRP and wood
- Breathable materials and tents
- Sailing in Friesland
- Learning from our misadventures
- Jeremy Norman's favourite cruising experiences

Some attendees choose to bring their boat, to make use of the expertise available. The presenters and other experienced cruisers will be happy to offer advice and suggestions about any aspect of owning a Wayfarer. There is not time in the schedule for sailing however, so the boats are kept in the dinghy park (free of charge).
Schedule:
Friday afternoon/evening relaxed arrival, drinks in the RSC bar in the evening. Formal start Saturday morning with talks both indoors and outside with demonstrations around boats in the dinghy park. Saturday night meal at the sailing club. Formal finish at lunchtime on Sunday followed by dinghy park networking and a bring-and-buy sale if Jonathan remembers to organise it this year!
