For the benefit of those of you who have indicated your intention to take part, and to any others who may still be undecided, I guess, like us here at Arun YC, you have been keeping a keen eye on the forecast for this coming weekend.
Earlier in the week things were looking very doubtful but, over the last couple of days, Windguru for Littlehampton has been showing a developing window in the weather, especially for Saturday, so I am writing to tell you that the event is definitely on!!
...read moreOur plan is to run four races on Saturday and then make a decision on Saturday morning whether of not Sunday’s forecast has abated enough to try to run the remaining two races on Sunday morning – if not, to cancel Sunday’s racing so you know where you stand.
For those of you coming from a distance and may not yet have booked overnight accommodation for Saturday/Sunday, it is possible that we could find space on a few members’ cruisers on our club moorings for you to use for that night. The boats are relatively small so it will not be luxury accommodation, but maybe any safe port in a storm!! If any of you think you might like to avail yourself of that facility, can you please email me as soon as possible so that I can find spaces for you to use (max two persons per boat).
Just to reiterate, we are determined to make this event a success if we possibly can. The only thing we can’t control is the weather!!
