Neither Bill Whitney (9 points) nor Brian Lamb (11points)
ventured to Upper Thames but Richard Stone did and so
completed his qualifying races for the Hartley Boats National
Circuit Trophy with 12points. All three will be looking to
improve their scores at the final two inland events at Datchet
and Bough Beech. Lurking in the wings with two good scores
are the current holders of the trophy, Martin and Donna
Rouse-Collen who added a comprehensive win to add to their
third place at the Westerns and now stand on 4 points while
the winner of the Westerns, Andrew Wilson added a fourth
place at Bourne End and has 4.5 points. Mike Mac hasn’t
been seen for a month or so but sits on 1.5 points and needs to
sail in at least one of the remaining fresh-water events to
qualify.
