Despite the holidays we got the worlds 2016 site up: http://worlds.wayfarer.nl/
It is not quite completed yet and still has a few quirks, but it is being updated every day. For now it is Dutch only but the English pages should become available within the next few days.29/11/2015 at 12:22 am #20610
Not having a certificate is usually not a problem for club racing but Nationals, Europeans and Worlds are another story. However, in the upcoming Worlds 2016 boats without a certificate are very welcome to participate in the Bronze fleet.
The alternative is having your boat measured. If you browse the UKWA web pages you will find a measurer near you, If not email the UKWA secretary. But be aware that the boats are made by hand and sometimes a hull is not entirely conforming to specs. Those hulls are not thrown out, they are still good cruising or school boats but cannot receive a certificate. I remember a boat that was taken out of the mould too soon and got a much flatter bottom. It should be obvious that such a boat is easier to get in to a plane and will hence be faster and never be allowed to race, but it is still a good boat for other purposes.29/11/2015 at 11:30 pm #20612
The message above was intended for the “MKIV cruiser dispensation” thread.21/01/2016 at 9:32 pm #20795
There is a free e-chart of the Wayfarer Worlds and Rally sailing area available here: http://www.vaarkaartfriesemeren.nl/
As far as I know it is only available for Windows and Android and the site is Dutch only.
So, charge your phone or tablet and go for it!
Windows users press the “Nu downloaden” button on the web page. (Alternative: Use Google translate on the web page).
Android users: Go to Google play store and search for “Vaarkaart Friese Meren” by a company called “Stentec”.01/05/2016 at 12:38 am #21149
Apparently something has gone wrong with Wayfarer Worlds subscriptions made through the Wayfarer Worlds web-site. Normally you would get an email response within one or two days from Conny Steennis or Joke Peers. If you did not get a response on your subscription, please send an email to the NEDWA/Worlds committee, or call us.
A contact list is found on the NEDWA web site24/06/2016 at 11:11 pm #21328
