InactiveWhat’s considered the best way to support a W so that it is safe to climb inside her when she’s out of the water? Is it OK to leave her on a road trailer?

InactiveCharles,
It makes me cringe to see people heaving themselves over the side decks of their boats. What a good way to force the bearers under the floorboards off the hull skin (either wood or plastic)!
Either I climb onto the foredeck and walk down the centreline or if the boat is at home I support the gunwales with a piece of timber and climb over the side.
Then I have been accused of being a bit fussy with my boat.06/08/2007 at 11:48 am #5663Anonymous
InactiveThanks, Matt for that advice. I think I will support the gunwales and also use a short step ladder so that I can step into the boat. A prop under the stern might not be a bad idea as well, come to think of it.
Now for the fun part – wriggling into the forward compartment….

InactiveCharles,
Best job ever was varnishing the underside of my new foredeck. Good luck. - AUTHORPOSTS
