I am a newcomer to the class so apologies in advance for the stupid question !
Currently, our boat is set up with a standard ‘continuous loop’ toestrap arrangement. The crew/wife is 5′ 1″, I am 6’3″ and twice her weight 😯 . I have tried loosening the rope loop adjustment to allow her to hike out more efficiently, but when I have to hike hard, her straps tighten and I end up pulling her back in…We also like to take ‘turn about’ as helm/crew, which necessitates more messing around.
Can the crew and helm straps be separated and made adjustable (using cleats) for different wind conditions? (I can’t see anything in class rules that prohibits this but I stand to be corrected!)
All suggestions welcome as to the best set-up.30/10/2006 at 9:12 pm #4875mattLMember
a silly question.
Do you have a GRP boat or a wooden boat? as there are different ways for both.31/10/2006 at 4:16 pm #4876AnonymousInactive
