I have been asked by a new wayfarer sailor how he sets up the spinniker sheets on a Mark 2, and for the life of me 😳 I cannot remember how the sheet goes through the side bouyancy. can anyone suggest how this goes?11/03/2008 at 6:21 pm #6720AnonymousInactive
A flush mounted block in the side deck just about level with the front of the tank, then block with spring on the floor half way between tank and thwart then another block on the side of the thwart then repeated the other side so you have a continuous line11/03/2008 at 8:07 pm #6722howardMember
I have the through block on the side deck, but instead of going to the floor then the thwart, I fixed through blocks just above the thwart. Getting the position and angle of these is tricky, but it was possible to avoid the web and the bouyancy foam by placing the blocks toward the rear of the thwart.
It would be as well to check where the bouyancy is in the boat before committing, I guess it might vary.
I also use a continuous sheet.12/03/2008 at 10:18 am #6723mattLMember
Thanks for these suggestions I’ll pass them on
