I’d like a spinny and have found one that is not advertised as a wayfarer model. The description says it is 16ft along each side. Unfortunately I don’t know the size of a wayfarer model. The pole that goes with it is 5ft long. Does this sound right?

    Hi Martyn,

According to Class Rules the maximum length should be 4725mm or 15’6″ from the centre of the head cringle to any part of the foot of the spinnaker. The pole should not exceed 1982mm or 6’6″. Incidentally the width should be a maximum of 3353mm or 11’0″ between the tack and the clew cringles.

It sounds as though the sail may just be OK but the pole is a bit short. (I am certainly no authority on spinnakers I should emphasise.)

In addition to the previous info, it looks like the sail came off a 505. Does this make it more or less compatible?

    Cheers for your thoughts Dave.
