No Disgrace
MemberI’m sure there must be a definitive answer to this somewhere on the net, but I couldn’t find it!
If I use under-sized sails (rather than just reefed down normal sails) am I still class legal?
This is just for club racing against other Wayfarers, not at national level or anything like that. The reason I ask is that I have acquired a sail which is quite short in the foot. I think it might make a great sail for heavier winds to compensate for my underweight crew. The luff length is almost full, so I think it will be more efficient than a reefed down standard sail.

MemberThe outer band on the boom is intended to show the maximum position for the foot of the sail so I believe you have no problem using a sail with a shorter foot . i wish more of the racing fraternity would do the same !!!!
