SeaHolly
MemberAs part of my package of modificatiosn and improvements to Sea Holly, one of my summer jobs was to properly set-up the mast, using the widely available rig-tuning guides.
Whilst I have been able to get most things in line with the tuning guides, my fixed spreaders are only set with a defelction of about 6″, which limits any ability to get any pre-bend in the mast. I am therefore considering a repalcement set of spreaders.
Has anyone replaced the spreader set-up, with one of the more modern fully adjustable types, and more importantly how easy was this to achieve?
I would be particularly interested in how to secure the new spreader set-up to the mast – I assume given the loading involved that Monel rivets would be sensible.
Thanks in advance,
Darren

MemberIf it is of any use, I have a new set of adjustable spreaders and the spreader bracket still attached to the remains of a broken mast that you can have for nothing if you like.

MemberA friend of mine once said never look a gift horse in the mouth, so I would struggle to refuse such a kind offer. 😀
Perhaps we can use the private message system to establish how we can arrange to deliver/collect.
With very kind regards,
Darren
