We lost the aft locker hatch for our Mk1 GRP Wayfarer in a bit of a disaster capsize and so I’m now on the hunt for a way of replacing it!

Does anybody know of anywhere I might be able to source a replacement?

Or will it be a case of trying to fabricate something to do the job instead. If so, would fibreglass be the only solution or could a sheet of Stainless Steel or Marine Ply do the job just as well? Any advice on the best option would be greatly received.

I think a replacement hatch could be made from GRP or wood and the choice would depend on your skill set.

Trident do have hatches for Mk2 listed – not sure how different these are, but might be worth checking dimensions.

Try Protex Fasteners if the catches need replacing.

    Hope that helps
