The Wayfarer fleet at Parkstone continues to thrive and we would welcome visiting Wayfarers who would like to join us for a week of racing in Poole Harbour, from 19th – 24th August this year. Entries should be received by August 11th to avoid a late entry surcharge. Notice of Race and Entry Forms are available from the club website at http://www.parkstoneyc.co.uk/pagepooleweek07.html

Poole Harbour is lovely to sail in and there is also a lively social programme, including our class dinner, bbq and much more. All Wayfarers very welcome – you don’t have to be brilliant at racing, just come and have a go and enjoy yourselves. Local accommodation available.

Next year we hope to hold the Wayfarer Nationals at Parkstone, within Poole Week, so this is your opportunity to find out what it’s all about and gain some useful advance experience!

Poole nationals 2008 well noted Neil and Richard, though it must be said that I will be sailing another class next year having become totally fed up with all the shenanigans going on at the moment. W33 will still be around though.

We had intended to go to Poole Week this year for the first time, having heard such good reports. However, as our boat number is W10508 you will probably realise why will now be using the week to go walking in Wales instead.

Hope you have a great week.

As for next year – well that depends on what class of boat we have then.

Class of boat? Fingers crossed that you have a Wayfarer.
Which boat? Fingers crossed that you have W10508.

You will be very welcome at the Ullswater Gathering, walking, sailing to the pub, sailing to a cream tea.

Having returned from our holiday it was a pleasant surprise to see the following:

“You will be very welcome at the Ullswater Gathering, walking, sailing to the pub, sailing to a cream tea… and..

“Which boat? Fingers crossed that you have W10508…”

Thanks for that Simon McE and JordanChris – these are more typical of the “Friendly Class” we originally joined. I’m sure that the majority of UKWA members are like-minded, although it’s difficult to spot that from many of the posts on the site.

Its all about fun in the end – even the racing. We’ll watch this space and see what happens by next season and maybe see you at Ullwater or Poole next year.
