While I have sailed Dinghy and cruisers a bit over the years I have never owned my own Dinghy until now. A Wayfarer of course. I believe from the sail number it is a MK1 GRP. It is in pretty good condition and has obviousy had various work and replacement kit over years. I’ll be keeping her at Derwent Water mostly and using her for some easy family sailing.
The sailing is fine – but never having owned a boat I have never had to learn much about maintenance, getting masts up and down, tensioning shrouds etc etc. Anyone got any recommended available books, manuals etc that might bring me up to speed ?

Welcome to the forum Tonym 😀
The Wayfarer Book is a good starting point, £15 to UKWA members (check out the UKWA merchandise on the main website).
A wealth of information is also available on our Canadian cousins’ website http://www.wayfarer-canada.org.
Hope this helps!
