Hi there – I’ve just purchased my first Wayfarer (Mk 2 GRP, sail number 8379) and having rigged her today on the drive I’ve got the first of what I’m sure will be many questions………

Having set the mast up as per the tuning notes I’ve got ball park numbers for spreader length, deflection and mast rake (rig tension’s a little down but it’s curently only got a highfield lever) but the mast foot isn’t hitting the retaining bolt in the rear of mast step and the next hole along doesn’t seem an option as it is covered by the mast foot and the pivot bolt is currently easy to remove so I guessing the mast is currently roughly in the right place.

Therefore, do people use something as a spacer to fill this gap and if so what??

I apologise if this has been covered before and your advice will be gratefully recieved.

    Regards
    Martin
