Has anybody tried one of the new cruising mainsails from china via Yealmpton that are on ebay?
I’d buy a racer’s “old” main, change the numbers (fun job) get a sailmaker to put in reefing points – it will last you for years and years, and will make your boat go properly. I would seriously avoid anything that wasn’t cut and assembled by an acknowledged expert. It may either slow you down, fall apart, or both.
My boat has an adapted racing main put together at least 15 years ago, it is got year’s of use left in it.
