InactiveAnyone know where I can get hold of the D section rubber gunnel surround for my Wayfarer? It is an inch wide D section and white, attached to a metal strip of steel. Who makes it?

InactiveHi Paul,
I replaced my fendering last year with pvc fendering from http://www.compassmarine.co.uk….white with a black insert that covers the fixing screws. However, with pvc it needed to be fixed in place on a hot day, or at least with the full sun on it for an hour. It tends to expand and sag between fixings if fitted on a cold day and looks terrible come the summer months. Fortunately, I haven’t had this problem and my mk2 doesn’t look as scruffy anymore. Downside, 11-12metres of the stuff isn’t cheap!
Hope this helps, Richard

Exactly! That is why I always suggest to use mahogany or teak instead. Wood looks so much nicer and is just as expensive if you do it yourself.

Inactive…..I totally agree, but with a lovingly nurtured section of Brazilian rainforest, I’d always be worried about bumping my fendoff!

ParticipantRather than go to Brazil for it,why not use wood from a sustainable source instead and help save the rain forests.

ParticipantI didn’t know they grow mahogany or teak in Brazil nowadays. Has somebody started a tree farm over there?

Seals direct seem the most likly to help. Don’t know if the size is correct though and they appear to only sell 9mtr coils and I think I need it to be longer.

KeymasterAre you trying to match it to an existing product, Paul?
By the way, although the website for Ian Porter doesn’t look too promising, Ian will almost certainly be able to help if you contact him by ‘phone or even email.
