Is it good or bad practice to remove the forestay and belay it at the mast once the rig is secure? I was concerned it would get caught when furling the jib.
Also, I find that the jib is pushing out the asymmetric halyard lifting out the head of the sail. Can this be prevented?
Thank you,
Mark

It is not good Mark but then it does get in the way so I for one understand why you would want too.
You would have worked out that it will hold up the mast if your genoa halyard parts !
I have, and also many in the fleet a piece of elastic on the forstay to the bow to keep it tort and out the way of the teltails, may help you?
