Well the restoration of Aquila W6657 is nearly complete and hoping to get her down to the waters edge early July. Couple of quick questions for you:
1. What is the easiest way for fixing the toe straps?
2. The rigging points for the Genoa is on the inner run of the forward seat, is this correct? The boat is to be simply rigged for day cruising for the family, which includes two girls.
Now this is posted I must get back to the endless coats of varnish.13/06/2010 at 10:01 pm #9408Colin ParkstoneParticipant
Under the thwart you should find a block of wood moulded to it, that could be your centre anchor point.
Aft will be on the forward face of the aft tank, down low ish! You may find a block in the tank but if not, beef up the tank face inside the tank to take bolts or screws.
Forward you can pick the tank face again or the centreboard capping.
Genoa tracks, or the bearing point of the sheet to pulley is about 21ins (old money) from the centre line of the boat.
You could use a smaller jib and sheet it on the fordeck out the way of the crew sitting on the side seats !
If your crew likes to sit on the sidedeck then the tracks on the sideseat is ok but not if your crews like to be in the cockpit ???
