MemberEntries are now open for the 2014 European Championships (incorporating the UKWA National Championships).
Please see front page of the Website and download the entry form and pay your entry fee NOW – to make sure that you don’t miss out on the incredibly generous early bird discount fee (closes on 2nd March).
You can enter at the dinghy show, but risky to leave it that late!

MemberMichael Dillistone of Castle Cove SC has drawn my attention to some posh new accommodation in Portland. He comments:
“…attached is some information about RYA self-catering accommodation near the Sailing Academy on Portland. It was given to me by the assistant manager, Debbie Woof, who is a member of our sailing club. She said it is very popular with other classes (e.g. booked up for the GP14 champs in June) but she hasn’t had a single enquiry from a Wayfarerer yet. The rooms are £58/night but sleep either 2 or 3, and are open to members of RYA and affiliated clubs. Please feel free to forward the info to anyone you think appropriate.”

“I have spoken to Debbie re accommodation in Portland House which is the RYA team GB purpose built accommodation block next to WPNSA, rooms are all en suite twin or triple beds with kitchen facilities for prep of own meals. Communal food can be organized for a max of 60 people at a sitting however there is no full time chef or food available so self catering is the order of the day or breakfast and or evening meals by appointment. Rooms are priced at £58 per room per night and accommodating up to 3 people per room, I have asked her to see if we can get a special event rate and she has undertaken to see what she can do for us. Debbie said 4 wayfarer sailors had already booked Portland house accom.”

MemberBig Al has secured the services of one the smart Beneteau Trawlers which were used at the Olympics for VIPs as a spectator boat for the Eurochamps. Should be pretty luxurious.
The charter cost is about £200 per day, so if 10 people sign up the cost will be £20 per person. Please post a message if you are interested.

Member3 of the 7 travelling Parkstone boats are now all packed on their trailers ready for the drive to Weymouth at the weekend.
The other 4 intend to race at Parkstone on Saturday afternoon before they pack and travel.17/07/2014 at 11:56 am #11881Colin Parkstone
