How do I remove the centreboard in my fibreglass Wayfarer, I have removed the brass strips on the keel which exposed a s/s bracket of some description, removed the screws holding the bracket but it will not budge, any suggestions please??
Assuming you have a Wayfarer World you remove the stainless plate from underneath and you will note it has a piece of tube which is fixed to the plate and keeps the centreboard in position. Once this is off support the back of the boat on a trestle and pull the trolley forward a foot or two this allows the centreboard to pivot down and it can then be removed from the top. Try going to the main page and the drop down menu under rules has a maintenance and repair bit.

Ok, thanks, I will give it a go tomorrow, so far I hav’nt been able to remove the s/s plate. I don’t know if it’s a World or not. I have it on trestles at present but they’re not high enough to completely drop the board. I will tell you how it all go’s,
regards, Dave.
