Is Brixham at the other end of the world? Now if it was north of Watford Gap I could understand why people would be reluctant to travel. Whippets, coal in the bath and funny accents. Big burly blokes calling their gorilla like friends “love”.
I see the Kestrel class is going to Brixham for their nationals and most of their open meetings are in Essex. Distance is obviously not a problem for them. So why aren’t people signing up for Brixham?
Attendance at our Nationals has been going steadily up over the last 5 years and it looks like this year will reverse the trend with a vengeance. When Brixham was put forward as a venue at an AGM there was a vote in favour of the venue! So what is the problem? Is it ennui?
Brixham seems fine as a town but not a known W venue and it is possible sea sailing puts some off.
I noticed a recent event at Medway was missing some regular visitors so there may also be a dip in active campaigners.
Just entered. Know five boats going from Medway.
