InactiveGood morning
I was wondering if anybody could help me.
I have just bought a second-hand Wayfarer dingy which needs a new boom. I have already had reefing points put in the mainsail, and would like a boom that would facilitate the use of two reefing lines.
Any idea of the best place to buy one, and approximately how much they cost? I also assume that all booms for Wayfarer’s are the same as regards fitting to the mast.
Being a new boy I haven’t a clue.I should have mentioned it is a Mk2 SD 1990. Any other advice would be welcome.
Look forward to sailing her, as I have heard so many good things about the class.
Regards David

ParticipantDavid, You can buy a new boom from Hartley Laminates;
http://www.hartleylaminates.co.uk/I would imagine they could supply it with reefing kit if you wanted.
You probably have a fixed gooseneck on your mast – so that should be ok with a modern boom.
I’m not sure if booms come with a kicking strap band and mainsheet sliders – but if you need them make sure they come with the boom.Hope that helps.
