    Hi Guys,

new to dinghy sailing, new to this forum, please go easy on me!

I recently obtained wayferer 2215, and am getting it ready to sail. The mast has a bend in it, as hown by these pictures. Bearing in mind that I have no intention to race and just want to potter about, do I need to replace, straighten or stop worrying?

    Thanks in advance

    Tony

Straighten it by putting it on two saw horses and sit on it together with a friend. Then start jumping while two others hold it in position. Move the horses and yourself to where it is most needed. I must have a picture somewhere of me excersising this dril. I am not sure if it was Uncle Al that took the picture, but I am quite sure it was Uncle Al that suggested that I could always claim it with the insurance should it break. Wrap the saw horses in a blanket or so to prevent too much point loading the mast. And remember you have to jump quite hard, you may need to counter bend it up to 2 to 3 foot to get the bend out.
