Hello everyone,
I have a fibreglass mk2 transom sheeted Wayfarer onto which
I want to fix aft fairleads. My outboard mounting fixture has a handy stainless ring which has so far held the boat quite well, but I have to remove the outboard to be able to use it which is a neusance.
I would sleep better if I knew both aft warps were doing their stuff, but
as I have yet to see a Wayfarer with aft fairleads, I,m left wondering
if I should leave things as they are. Some advise would be appreciated.
Pete
Hi Pete – I fitted a couple of stainless U-bolts to the transom – one on either side, through-bolted. They keep the mooring lines out of the tent which is good or bad depending on your point of view (tidy, but slightly harder to reach and adjust). They’re also handy strong points for attaching a tow rope.
Thanks Dave I will give that idea some thought.
