One question leading on from this discussion, how much abeam play should there be at the mast pin? The first photo shows no packing pieces between the sides of the tabernacle (brothers?) and the mast. My boat has plywood cheeks , shims and rubber washers making a very tight fit. A right pain when fitting the mast.
