It is not good Mark but then it does get in the way so I for one understand why you would want too.
You would have worked out that it will hold up the mast if your genoa halyard parts !
I have,and also many in the fleet a piece of elastic on the forstay to the bow to keep it tort and out the way of the teltails,may help you?
