It is on the outside and runs along the whole length of the hull. I think the previous owner has put this on to protect it from running up onto beaches etc. as it is very worn.
I have seen some wayfarers with a metal strip on, once I have sorted out the hull (eventually !!) do you recommend this or should I leave it bare?.
