I doubt we will be able to make it to the event next year really annoying if it does end up so close to us, but we have planned a trip to Europe.
BUT.. having spent a family holiday there last year I can highly recommend it. Carnon Downs is an example of what a good campsite should look like. Huge pitches, excellent facilities and helpful staff. The only downside is the drive to the water as you either negotiate the hill to Loe Beach or the longer easier drive to Mylor. For me It has to be Mylor as you can leave the boat for the week in the yard and drop it in the water on a daily basis without continually towing.
The sailing is stunning and easy with beach trips, river cruises and, though we didn’t do it, the possibility of a long cruise to beaches outside the Fal.
Go for it and you won’t regret it.[/list]
