It’s interesting that the boat was inverted – brings to mind the discussions about masthead buoyancy for cruising.
I’m a bit wary about media reports – it’s a shame he got into trouble but he probably would have had a rough press whether or not he had the other stuff. It sounds like he had a phone and was able to call it in himself – not ideal but it worked.
