Hi Mike – as you know I don’t race, so stern sheeting is acceptable (though I’m toying with the idea of changing). The stern cleat is only used occasionally (I sail the boat like an Enterprise – holding the sheet all the time, under tension) and adjusted to make it very hard to cleat (have to stand up) and very easy to uncleat (just take up slack). Whether this meets our needs when it comes to spinnaker hoists remains to be seen…
Hi all – so, general agreement on centre mainsheet. Question – what is the preferred spinnaker halyard setup? Straight 1:1, 1:1 with elastic takeup, reverse purchase, pump, or other?
Another question – do you keep the spinnaker in a bag?
Thanks.
