CLUB RACING REVIEW 1ST JULY

The ‘Round the Island’ saw some of the Parkstone Wayfarer regulars tempted by the thought of having ‘refreshment’ on the way round. and with frequent winner Geof Gibbons away, Steve Haley took the gun followed by Ian Sargeant crewed by young daughter Anjali (winner of the Notley Trophy at the Weymouth Europeans last year ).

Shoreham encountered an erratic sea breeze that fortunately changed through 90 degrees between races. Bill crewed by Lisa found the light conditions to their liking and were chased home in both races by myself and Philip Ayton – but the gap is getting smaller as we find more boat speed! The pair of us finished first and second in the 12-strong handicap fleet.

At Datchet Water, Anthony Cooper and Ray Mason added a first to their series to maintain second place in the series.
