Racing for Parkstone’s 26 strong Wayfarer fleet finally got underway after a slow start with nearly half the fleet on the water .The larger fleet didn’t deter the winners of the first race with Geof Gibbons crew by Carrie Wilkes again taking the winning gun from Colin May and Sue Poulson, second .
At Waldringfield the second Spring Series begun and Neil Collingridge and Anne Spalding continued their good form at the Easterns by taking first place from Roger Challis and Keith Vincent. Also to be noted is the fact that 8 boats competed in the largest turnout of the year to date.
Rather more disappointing was the Wayfarer participation at Shoreham with only two boats out. Bill and Lisa Whitney continued their successful reconciliation (in the boat that is) by finishing first and second in the two handicap races held in a shifty North-easterly force 3-5.
Wilsonian saw only one Wayfarer on the water but John Goudie and Stan Sprot, complete with new mast, won the handicap event.
